I want to thank everyone who contributed in some way to our campaign. What we accomplished over the past 10 weeks was truly amazing. We worked hard to raise awareness and funds for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and truly Owned Every Second. Through your generosity we raised a record for the State of Iowa, approximately $140,000 during the ten week campaign. We could not have accomplished this without all of your support. Although the campaign is over, we have only just begun. We are committed to continuing to raise money and awareness to ensure that Someday Is Today and eradicate blood cancers. OwnEverySecond.org was founded as a venue for individuals to honor someone special in their lives who has been affected by cancer. This site honors anyone who has battled or is currently battling cancer. We encourage you to review the site and consider purchasing a second in honor of someone you know who has been affected by cancer. All donations are 100% tax deductible and the funds go directly to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to fund research grants, advocacy and awareness programs and education. The countdown clock above was started on Feb 19th and will run continuously until May 2nd. This coincides with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man and Woman of the Year Campaign, 2015, which is where this concept originated.

Forward Ho
When we lost my father 5 years ago to cancer, our hearts broke. Forward Ho became his and our coping phrase. Allowing cancer to own and define you is a decision. I stand behind my friend Mike as he boldly stands behind the LLS mission to make Someday Today in finding the cure and supporting families as they put their trust of medicine to save their loved ones. My dad is my champion, our angel Grandpa giving his classic thumbs up to Owning Every Second and making cancer history. Forward Ho.

Personal Journey
Everyone of us has been affected by cancer. I lost both my parents to cancer and have had countless other friends and family that have been affected. I chose to get involved to try and ensure that someday is today. I have donated in honor of my parents (Ron and Shirley Anderson) as well as personal friends Pat Bixby, Dale Howard and our boy and girl of the year Austin "Flash" and Sophia.

Every dollar counts towards saving lives!
Mike has asked me to share a story - but I could share many! After 20 years of working for LLS - I have seen first hand what every dollar donated does to help save lives. I have attended to many funerals and for the children we have lost - it is just unacceptable. In just the past 10 years I have watched what our research has discovered. Gleevac - the oral chemotherapy that will have patients with CML in remission with no other treatment and little side effects. I know that with continued support and donations for research- Children will have treatments for their leukemia and not have to go through years of chemotherapy and spinal taps. Someday is Today! Please consider owning part of the research and make a donation to Mike's campaign!
